What you need

tsp fine sea salt

tsp coconut sugar
cup cornstarch

clove garlic clove

firm tofu

tsp chinese five spice

tsp ground white pepper

tsp ground ginger

fresno pepper

Instructions
1. In a small bowl, combine sea salt, coconut sugar, ground white pepper, five spice powder, and ground ginger. Mix well. 2. Cut the firm tofu into cubes and pat dry with a paper towel. 3. Toss the tofu cubes in cornstarch until fully coated. 4. In a large pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium heat. 5. Add the tofu cubes to the pan and fry until golden and crispy on each side. Remove from the pan and set aside. 6. In the same pan, add the chopped garlic and sliced Fresno red pepper. Sauté until fragrant. 7. Add the crispy tofu back into the pan and sprinkle with the prepared spice mix. Toss to coat evenly. 8. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced scallions before serving.
